DATA PROTECTION DECLERATION

This privacy notice is in place to inform how HME Crafted Holidays (Pty) Ltd collect, use, and protect personal data. The term ‘personal data’ is any information relating to an identified or identifiable person. We collect and use personal data to communicate with potential travellers (you) and use the information to confirm holidays with suppliers in South Africa and abroad on behalf of you.

PERSONAL DATA

Personal data is information that reveals or can reveal your identity.  We use the personal information to communicate with you and to confirm bookings with suppliers (latter with your agreement).

HANDLING OF PERSONAL DATA

Personal data are used exclusively for the purpose of establishing a contract, structuring the content, executing, or processing the contractual relationship. In addition, personal data will only be processed if we have received your consent. Information will only, with your consent, provided to suppliers upon confirming of the booking. The data will only be passed on to the supplier company with the only purpose to execute the contract, as this is necessary for the delivery of the travel programs or products that have been committed to you. Payments will only be processed via EFT bank transfers and no banking details of the travellers will be stored or used.

DATA USAGE

General technical information is collected when you visit the website. These are the IP address used, time, duration of the visit, browser type and, if applicable, the page of origin. This information is only used for statistical purposes and there is no link between this usage data and your other personal data or can be linked to identify you in any way.

DURATION OF STORAGE OF DATA

Data will only be used during the duration of the communication, the trip and the finalisation of the contract and payment. Only the invoice and final eft payment advice will be stored after completion of a trip, or cancellation of trip or writing is received from the potential client that there is no more communication needed regarding a request.  In some cases, we may need to store your personal data for a specific period, e.g., for tax reasons or to comply with statutory retention periods. In such cases, we ensure that your personal data is treated in accordance with this privacy information at all times.

CLIENTS RIGHTS

INFORMATION

Personal data will only be used for the execution of the travel programme after receiving permission to do so in writing from you.

WE MAY COLLECT PERSONAL DATA WHEN YOU:

  • Request a quote for a tour programme
  • Confirm a booking

The type of information we collect depends on the reason for your relationship with us. We may collect:

  • The travellers’ full names and surnames
  • Your contact information including email address, telephone number and postal address
  • Your contact preferences
  • Demographic information
  • Gender
  • Age
  • Passport no / Id No
  • Medical Conditions
  • Dietary Preferences
  • Contact details in case of emergency

We do not collect special category personal data relating to, race, religious beliefs, and political opinions.

The personal data you provide may be used:

  • To provide a service (including touring programmes, brochures, etc.)
  • For marketing purposes when specific consent has been given
  • To better understand your preferences to tailor our communications to suit your interests
  • To analyse and improve the services we may provide

We will not sell, rent, trade, or distribute your personal data to any third parties for marketing purposes. Data may be shared with trusted supplier organisations. In these circumstances your data will only be used for the agreed purpose relating to the service that they are providing.

RIGHT OF CORRECTION

The client has the right to request the correction of data or the completion of incorrect data in writing.

REMOVING / ERASURE OF DATA

The client has the right to request that we delete/demolish personal information.  The following reasons might be applicable:

  • Your personal data are no longer required.
  • You wish to cancel your purpose of contacting HME Crafted Holidays (PTY) Ltd
  • You did not give HME Crafted Holidays (PTY) Ltd permission to process your data, or share your data with suppliers
  • After completion of the services rendered.

REMOVING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

If the processing of your personal data is based on consent, you have the right to revoke this consent at any time.

GENERAL INFORMATION

You have the right to contact the information officer at HME Crafted Holidays (Pty) Ltd and lodge a complained if you feel that your data has been unlawfully used, or if you would like to lodge a complained in any way regarding your personal data.

All data on our website are secured against loss, destruction, access, modification, and dissemination using technical and organizational measures.

E-PRIVACY

Our website uses cookies. A cookie is a small text file which is copied onto your hard disk by a website. Cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain any viruses. The cookies from our website do not collect any personal information about you. You can disable the use of cookies any time via your browser settings.

SERVICE PROVIDERS

External service providers and suppliers handle payments, programming, and data hosting. All service providers are obliged to maintain confidentiality and to abide by the statutory provisions.
